  • Project characteristics

    The international imam Khomeini airport is one of the largest international airports in the Middle East, with large area & high flight volume during the year of extraordinary importance in the field of air transportation and communication between the capital region and other countries. The airport has been located in south of Tehran. High volume of passengers and number of flights at the airport and its continuous operation made airport managers decide to control and reduce energy consumption and costs. With using a modern system, intelligent building management.

  • Objectives

    Typically in the airports because of none stop operation (24 hours) the energy consumption and costs is very high. Constant presence of people during the hours of day and night using none stops lighting systems, heating cooling and air conditioning. On the other hand security systems in an international airport is extraordinary important. Dividing into various  spaces (transit hall, lobby, restaurant and …) in terms of comfort and energy terms and in terms of specific security requirements for the definition of standard conditions and the type of access will be imposed on designers and managers . Open space around the central terminal building and air traffic tower and permanent and seasonal relatively severe winds from the Shahriar, increases the rate of energy loss outer wall and outer wall surface conditions due to the use of glass on the severity has added of these problems. These concerns led to airport managers to increase productivity and reduce building energy consumption.

  • Solutions

    TACWIN Company with full awareness of these objectives and aim to minimize them is attempting to run BMS in the airport. To provide comfort situation all systems has been controlled (such as HVAC, lighting . . .) in order to increase level of efficiency a well known company like Satchwell products were used. Our company took all controls integrating system, access controls, fire exits, CCTV cameras in hand and installed in a very high level of satisfaction, confessed by our employers. We could achieve and improve level of efficiency of 8500 different points in this project.

    We were positively hopeful that all these improvements will enable the airport to save up to 40% reduction in energy cost. Today is proven that our predictions were not far from realty.

    We would like to drawn our potential customer’s appreciation award which was sent to us from the airport managements. The Imam airport was high lights of our hard working technician’s job in 2008.
